Change to building parking bays adjacent to Council car park
You will be aware of the Council's imminent change to car parking restrictions in their car park adjacent to the building, 3 hours and not returning within 4 hours. We attempted to negotiate with them so that the community team, podiatrists, district nurses etc, who are in and out of the building all day, had special dispensation outwith these restrictions but they refused.
To enable the teams to continue to operate in the community without the risk of being fined for parking in the main car park, the parking bays belonging to the building itself which were previously ambulance and disabled parking, will be changed to staff parking only and keeping one disabled bay for use of health centre patients only. This change will come into force on Tuesday 10th March.
Until the Council install disabled bays in the main car park or introduce the new parking restrictions, we have asked the nurses to park in the main car park so that disabled users can park in the staff only areas and no need to keep within the lines.
ICB CHECKING PATIENT'S ADDRESSES
The NHS North East and Cumbria ICB (our Health Authority) and PCSE (Primary Care Support England) often check with patients if they are still living at the same address if a letter has been returned to screening invites, ie breast or bowel screening or the patient hasn't responded. If you receive a letter from them Primary Care Support England and you are still living at that address, you must contact them and not us to confirm this otherwise they will remove you from our list.
Thank you.
DISPENSARY CLOSING TIME
The dispensary closes at 6pm and you are therefore unable to collect medication after this time. This is detailed in the Prescriptions/Dispensing part of the website.
Continuity of Care
Patients with ongoing problems have better outcomes when looked after by the same GP. We therefore encourage patients to stick to being cared for by the same GP where practicable. Our staff will try to help our patients achieve this goal. Sometimes this may mean being asked to wait a day or two to see your regular GP if the problem is not urgent even though there might be sooner appointments with other GPs.
SURGERY CLOSED LAST THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH
We will be closed on the last Thursday of each month between 1pm and 4pm for staff meetings and training. You will not be able to collect medication during this time
If you need non urgent medical advice please call 111. In an emergency dial 999.
If you need to speak to a doctor urgently which can't wait until we resume surgery at 4pm, a mobile number will be available on our answering machine.
